I have a xerces-based xml parser that I think would make the parsing of the galprop input files a lot easier. It is used extensively in the ISRF modelling code, and it would be a simple task to modify galprop to use it. Immediate advantages are the parser is able to perform sanity checks on the input, do unit conversions to the galprop 'standard', and much more.
