A version upwards compatible with the latest HealPix release v3.11 can be found at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop
(Previous versions were only compatible with v2.20a)

Sir:
I use the galprop_54_r2504 with HealPix 3.11, but when I try to test the galprop as the README file:

Quote:
7. Test cases

Test cases are provided, which exercise most of the functionality of galprop in 2D and 3D.
They use a very coarse grid in space and energy so that they run in a few minutes CPU and little memory.
They can be used to test the installation (for accurate results a much finer grid should be used, taking correspondingly more CPU/memory).

> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest01 <path for GALDEF files> (2D, skymap format = 3 = healpix)
> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest02 <path for GALDEF files> (3D, skymap format = 3 = healpix)
> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest03 <path for GALDEF files> (2D, skymap format = 0 = l,b )
> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest04 <path for GALDEF files> (3D, new ISRF, only to r422, will not work with later revisions
> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest05 <path for GALDEF files> (2D, new aniso ISRF, iso. IC, from r423)
> cp GALDEF/galdef_54_reltest06 <path for GALDEF files> (2D, new aniso ISRF, aniso. IC, from r423, OMP compilation only)

> <path for installed software>/bin/galprop -r reltest01 -o <path for output FITS files>
> <path for installed software>/bin/galprop -r reltest02 -o <path for output FITS files>

galprop -r reltest01 -o /home/weicc/galprop/OUT_FITS/
I got this :
Quote:
>>>> read_gas_maps HIR
reading HIR from /home/weicc/galprop/FITS/rbands_hi12_qdeg_zmax1.fits.gz
read HIR open status= 104
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): Failed to open skymap "/home/weicc/galprop/FITS/rbands_hi12_qdeg_zmax1.fits.gz". Check your paths and galdef file.

thank you, sir
The file is really not there. I check all my files, only find these:
Quote:
rbands_hi12_v5_hdeg_zmax1_Ts125.fits.gz
rbands_hi12_v2_qdeg_zmax1_Ts150_EBV_mag2_limit.fits.gz
rbands_hi12_v2_qdeg_zmax1_Ts150_EBV_mag5_limit.fits.gz
/home/weicc/galprop/FITS/rbands_hi12_v2_qdeg_zmax1_Ts100000_EBV_mag2_limit.fits.gz
rbands_hi12_v2_qdeg_zmax1_Ts100000_EBV_mag5_limit

where can I find that file to finish the test?

You don't need that file to finish the run, you can use any of the files you have. And it is not really a test in the formal sense, just an example run.

Thank you sir!
It's really helpfull :D
I edit the galdef_54_reltest01 with
Quote:
COR_filename = rbands_co10mm_v3_2001_hdeg.fits.gz
HIR_filename = rbands_hi12_v5_hdeg_zmax1_Ts125.fits.gz

and finish the run.
Thank you sir!

in principle all data files are available at http://galprop.stanford.edu, and this was the original installation test case, so it should have been OK without change.
Something to check on, maybe should fix the test case or make the files compatible.
Thanks for bring this to our attention!
