Talk Title: Batch GALPROP calculations using WebRun

Abstract: Many applications of the GALPROP code require a scan of a parameter space. In many cases, such a scan can be performed by a number of independent calculations, each with its own set of parameters. In this presentation, I will demonstrate how to execute a batch of GALPROP calculations using the GALPROP WebRun service. The execution of a batch of calculations involves creating a seed GALDEF file, using it to produce a batch of GALDEF files covering the parameter space, submitting these files to WebRun and downloading the calculation results. These operations require a web browser and standard UNIX tools. Feedback and suggestions on the batch runs functionality of WebRun are welcome at the end of the presentation.
