of galprop-generated healpix gamma-ray skymaps
can be done with aladin beta6.916 (e.g. via web interface)
http://aladin.u-strasbg.fr/java/nph-ala ... ownloading

includes grid overplotting, colour bars and more.

But...
galprop output has pixels which are vectors (energies) which aladin cannot handle.
So make a new column containing a scalar copy of the energy of interest or sum over energies.
This is easy with fv.
In aladin, pick out this column using the EDIT / Properties menu.

not sure what 'to do' is here:
it was not intented as a galprop enhancement, but to users who want to plot the output.

it would anyway he useful to point to aladin under 'RESOURCES' with hints on how to use it in our case.

I thought you were suggesting to add it to QuickPlots, that is why I mentioned my to do list. If you just want the link posted for the users, I can do it in no time.

Done. Posted a link to Aladin along with fv and GSL under "Resources"/"Routines".
